The only photo I WISH I could send you would have been the “Mother/Daughter 6” from Burns but we were having too much fun to snap a photo! Looking forward to another camp in a couple years in Palm Springs area. Gotta get my knee back in shape (MRI Monday) and my husband is hoping to get his second knee replacement Sept/Oct.  Then back to the courts! Thank you for the wonderful opportunity to play on clay in Mallorca!  I loved staying in the resort where it was so easy to chat with other players at meals and around the pool.!

Thank you!

I have done the Steve Vaughan Wild West camps for four decades. I can honestly say that the 2024 Mallorca Camp was put on by the finest group of instructors Steve has ever assembled.  And there has been some really good ones over the years!

Michelle and I had a great time. The instructors were all knowledgeable and personable, and the side trips were worth the effort!

We just wanted to send a quick note to thank you for the wonderful time we had in Mallorca!. The tennis was fun, the pros were great. The tours were great, but most of all the people we met were so much fun. Georganne and I really enjoyed Rafa’s academy. Thanks Again!

I had a great time with Wild West Tennis! I went to this camp only knowing one person, and I came home with a number of new tennis friends. The accommodations and courts were great. I loved the itinerary and the coaches. Steve and Dorothy were warm and helpful. I hope to return in the future!

What do you call playing Tennis every day in Mallorca, Spain, dinner with friends every night, laughter, awe, sharing the experience of playing at Rafa Nadal’s Academy, the same clay courts that one of the best ever trains? What do you call waking up each day and not having to worry about anything but enjoying every moment, tennis, great coaches, good food, good times? You call it a Steve Vaughan’s Wild West Tennis camp! We had the most wonderful time, met the best people, enjoyed a beautiful island, we are better tennis players and people because of this wondrous experience. Our time in London was magnificent, a once in a lifetime experience. Going to Wimbledon was incredible and our trips with the group around London, and Dinner on the Thames, were amazing. Everything was planned and delivered by Steve, Dorothy and their team. Thank you so much! We can't wait for the next one!

Hi Steve, I’m still relishing the wonderful time we had in beautiful Mallorca. I loved every minute of it!

This is the first time my wife, Vicki, and I have ever attended an organized group vacation/tennis camp. We both had a wonderful time. We got to enjoy playing tennis with many new friends, while also working to improve our tennis skills! We had time to explore the island of Mallorca, and even attended the Rafa Nadal Tennis Academy for one day! We would highly recommend this camp to anyone. I would gladly talk to anyone that is interested in attending a future camp!

"I would like to highly recommend Steve Vaughn‘s current Spaces Not Faces coaching program. This winter I participated in nine weeks of semi-private lessons focusing on ball placement (as opposed to just returning the shot), and it has helped me immensely! I feel it has greatly upped my game, but it’s comments from the people I play with that have noticed the improvement in my game as a result of Steve’s direction that has has been so satisfying. It REALLY works!"

“Awesome group and great times! Great to know you all!”

“I have been taking private and group lessons for 10 years with Steve Vaughan and learn new ideas and strengths with each workout.”

“Fran, thanks for arranging the Island Tour, it was great fun! Especially the trip up the mountain road – even the switchbacks had switchbacks!”

"Steve Vaughn’s “Hit to Spaces, not Faces” program has improved my game a lot.  I’ve played tennis all my life and felt pretty good about my ability to place shots to the empty places on the court.  After taking Steve’s program, I now proactively create the spaces that let me hit winners."

The concept works in a couple different ways at least:

  • Even if you don’t hit a screamer, if you force your opponent to move return your shot, they can’t set up for a powerful blast back across the net;
  • Once you make them move, they are out of position and your next shot should be a winner into the opened up space;
  • Since you have Federer eyes, you won’t be watching your opponent as you hit the ball, so using the “spaces” concept, you figure out ahead of time where to hit the ball, move your feet to get in a great return position and fire away to where they ain’t.  That takes away one more thing to have to think about…..
  • It also lets you play the ball and not have the ball play you.

JJ Leary

"Since Steve Vaughan instituted the Spaces not Faces strategy into his teaching program, my game has been greatly enhanced. One more element of attack or offense. I have enjoyed my lessons this year and am excited to have this new weapon in my arsenal."

“The small groups into which you are placed allows for maximum observation, practice and play time.”

“It’s also great to have someone with Steve’s playing ability and teaching experience living right here with us and interacting with us on a daily basis.”

Thank you so much for organizing one of the best vacations I've ever had.  It was so much more than advertised!  Playing tennis on red clay with a group of fun and interesting people, the resort with the great buffet meals, accommodations and entertainment, the trip to the Nadal Academy and playing on those courts, the island tour, and the bon voyage party with the electric violinist leading us in a line dance at the end.  What memories!  You really did think of everything to make our trip more fun, memorable, and comfortable.  Thank you and your lovely wife.
